Favorite Things - In the Fall

Cleaning out perenial flowers, trimming bushes, cutting branches, and raking leaves sounds like a job of tedium and work. However, with a few moments of playful tractor rides, jumps on the trampoline, romps in the leaves and funny songs scattered in amoung the work the day ends up being full of laughter and memories. What a welcomed day it turns out to be!

Mourning the Lost Freedom

America has spoken. It has spoken to give up freedom in favor of some comfort. It has spoken to love deceit more than truth. It has spoken that we no longer believe in ourselves enough to guide and regulate our own. Most said we need govenment to take more control of us. This election is not the beginning of our freedom loss - it is simply the result of the previous few decade's decaying morals and ethics. This is not a moment of glory. The cancer in our nation has been building, we take today's election as a symbol that AMERICA chooses to let that cancer flow freely through our once great nation. He preached change. America bought it. Change will indeed come.America as we have known it dies today. A new America will emerge. Not as a lovely butterfly with gold etching the light on its wings, but as a moth that is dull with little vibrancy for life. At our home we fly our flag that stands proudly by our garden at half staff. A symbol of the death of our dear America as we have known her.

We mourn, but we are not without hope! The future is still bright with oppertunities. They are different oppertunities. A great Prophet once said, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." and we are surrounded by people who feel the same way. We hope to be worthy of their association. This way we maintain Living after the Manner of Happiness.
